Day 1 (July 29): Arrival & Welcome Dinner

 Travel: Arrive at Chitose Airport

Cycling: None beyond bicycle assembly 

Dinner: Takibi Robata Amayadori

Accommodation: Hotel Grand Terrace

Day 2 (July 30): Chitose to Lake Shikotsu

Travel: Chitose to Lake Shikotsu by bicycle
Cycling: Approximately 30 km
Lunch: Shikotsuko Lakeside Kitchen Tonton
Dinner: At the accommodation
Accommodation: Kyukamura Shikotsuko

 

Day 3 (July 31): Lake Shikotsu to Lake Toya

Travel: Lake Shikotsu to Lake Toya by bicycle
Cycling: Approximately 75–90 km 
Lunch: Mushroom dishes at Kinoko Okoku Otaki
Evening: Lake Toya Fireworks Display
Accommodation: Hotel Grand Toya

Day 4 (Aug. 1): Cycling Around Lake Toya

Travel: Loop around Lake Toya
Cycling: Approximately 36 km
Lunch:  Lake Hill Farm
Evening: Lake Toya Fireworks Display
Accommodation: Hotel Grand Toya (second night)

stage 2

Day 5 (Aug. 2): Lake Toya to Niseko

Travel: Lake Toya to Niseko by bicycle, with support vehicle available
Cycling: Approximately 70–75 km 
Lunch: Casual lunch in Makkari featuring seasonal local produce
Dinner: Hokkaido dishes featuring seasonal Niseko vegetables and local tofu
Accommodation: Niseko Grand Hotel

Day 6 (Aug. 3): Niseko to Otaru

Travel: Niseko to Otaru by bicycle, with support vehicle available
Cycling: Approximately 70–80 km 
Rest Stop: Michi-no-Eki Akaigawa for baked goods and seasonal gelato
Dinner: Otaru sushi and locally caught seafood
Evening: Walk along the illuminated Otaru Canal
Accommodation: Hotel Sonia Otaru

Day 7 (Aug. 4): Niseko to Otaru

Travel: Otaru to Furano by support vehicle

Cycling: Approximately 25–35 km 
Lunch: Furano’s signature omu-curry
Dinner: Japanese dinner prepared with seasonal Hokkaido ingredients
Accommodation: Highland Furano

Day 8 (Aug. 5): Cycling Through Furano’s Flower Country

Cycling: Approximately 50–60 km 
Highlights: Furano Winery, Naka-Furano flower fields, and farm landscapes 
Food Stop: Furano Cheese Factory for local cheese and ice cream
Dinner: Seasonal Japanese dinner at the accommodation
Accommodation: Highland Furano  (second night)

Day 9 (Aug. 6): Furano to Biei Shirogane Onsen

Travel: Furano to Biei Shirogane Onsen by bicycle
Cycling: Approximately 65–75 km
Highlights: Furano–Biei countryside, Panorama and Patchwork roads, Blue Pond and Shirahige Falls
Lunch: Bei curry udon with locally produced milk at Family Restaurant Daimaru
Dinner: Japanese set dinner featuring seasonal Hokkaido ingredients
Accommodation: Mori-no-shizuku RIN

Day 10 (Aug. 7): Shirogane Onsen to Asahidake

Travel: Shirogane Onsen to Asahidake Onsen by bicycle
Cycling: Approximately 50 km
Highlights: Daisetsuzan National Park, Chubetsu Lake, mountain forests and the ascent to Asahidake
Lunch: Support-vehicle picnic featuring Higashikawa rice onigiri and local Hokkaido products
Dinner: Hearty home-style Japanese dinner at the lodge
Accommodation: Daisetsuzan Shirakabasou

stage 4

Day 11 (Aug. 8): Asahidake and Sounkyo Onsen

Travel: Asahidake to Sounkyo Onsen (option to take support vehicle)
Cycling: Approximately 100 km
Highlights: Asahidake Ropeway, Sugatami Pond, alpine flowers, volcanic fumaroles, Ginga Falls and Ryusei Falls
Lunch: Mountain lunch at the Asahidake Ropeway restaurant
Dinner: Japanese and Hokkaido buffet at the hotel
Accommodation: Sounkyo Kanko Hotel

Day 12 (Aug. 9): Mikuni Pass to Nukabira Onsen

Travel: Morning support transfer from Sounkyo to the Lake Taisetsu starting point
Cycling: Approximately 65–70 km 
Highlights: Daisetsuzan National Park, Mikuni Pass and Matsumi Bridge
Lunch: Curry and soft-serve ice cream at Mikuni Pass Café
Dinner: Seasonal dishes prepared with Tokachi ingredients and locally gathered mountain vegetables
Accommodation: Nukabira Onsen Nakamuraya

Day 13 (Aug. 10): Bihoro Pass to Kawayu Onsen

Travel:  Morning support-vehicle transfer from Nukabira Onsen to Bihoro Pass
Cycling: Approximately 45–55 km
Highlights: Bihoro Pass, Lake Kussharo, Wakoto Peninsula, Sunayu lakeside hot springs and Mount Io
Lunch: Bihoro Wagyu beef and onion curry, with the pass’s famous ageimo fried potato
Dinner: Simple Japanese set dinner featuring regional Hokkaido ingredients
Accommodation: Kawayu Kanko Hotel

Day 14 (Aug. 11): Lake Mashu to Lake Akan — The Final Ride

Cycling: Approximately 75–80 km
Highlights: Lake Mashu, Teshikaga countryside, Sōkōdai viewpoint, Penketo and Panketo lakes, Lake Akan and the Ainu Kotan
Lunch: Teshikaga ramen 
Dinner: Celebratory Japanese dinner featuring seasonal Hokkaido ingredients
Accommodation: Hotel Gozensui

back to reality

 

Day 15 (Aug. 12): Farewell Hokkaido and Departure

Travel: Private transfer from Lake Akan to Kushiro Airport
Cycling: None | Bicycle disassembly and packing
Breakfast: Included at Hotel Gozensui
Lunch: Optional katte-don seafood bowl at Kushiro Washo Market, depending on flight time
Highlights: Final views of eastern Hokkaido, Kushiro seafood and a relaxed departure
Tour Conclusion: Kushiro Airport to Haneda Airport
